Because I have, one too many times, and that’s why we created HoneyDo, the first SMS reminder app of its kind to use smart features and AI to simplify your family’s schedules.

This is us

I’m Pace Stead. My wife Maegan and I are the founders of HoneyDo. We built this platform to provide busy families with a better, more efficient way to manage their commitments. HoneyDo was born out of our own experiences that came with juggling dual careers and raising three young children. After a text reminder from a doctor’s office kept me from nearly missing my appointment, I had the idea to create a similar SMS system specifically for families.

How we got here

In 2020 after my separation from the Air Force, I co-founded a technology company while serving as a pilot in the Air Force Reserves. Maegan was working full time in financial planning and managing our household. As the technology company grew, so did the demands of our time and the complexity of our family's schedule. With a growing family, keeping track of important dates, events, and everyday reminders became a daunting task. We searched for an organization solution but found that most didn't fully address our needs. That’s when we decided to take matters into our own hands and create our own app.

Uniquely designed with busy bees in mind

My background in the tech industry and Maegan’s experience as a  chaos coordinator proved invaluable when it came to developing HoneyDo’s features. She realized we should build an app that didn’t require every user to download it in order to work, a feature that the majority of other family apps on the market were lacking. In instances where you are reminding party-goers which food item they’re bringing, or reminding your sports teams’ parents when and where team photos are being taken, this feature is a necessity.

Additionally, we are the first reminder app to introduce a revolutionary bulk add feature to simplify the process of adding multiple events to your calendar at once. This makes it easy for parents to remember things like sports schedules, dance classes, changing home air filters, and any other repetitive events.

As we worked, our vision became laser focused on building technology centered around the concept of the family team, or as we like to call it, the “busy bees.” This isn’t just another calendar app. Our experience as busy working parents gave us the unique perspective we needed to build the ideal family management system.

From our family to yours

After months of using the app and sharing it with family and friends, the positive feedback was overwhelming. Realizing that this solution could benefit other families struggling with similar challenges, we decided to share HoneyDo with the public.

Since its launch, HoneyDo has become an invaluable tool for many families. It’s been used to stay on top of sports schedules, coordinate holiday parties, track family birthdays, and even manage pickups after work. The future for families

In the past two decades, the number of dual working families has doubled, but technology has been slow to catch up with their needs. We believe the family is the most important team, and our mission is to introduce groundbreaking technology that empowers parents to manage their families more effectively. Ultimately, our goal is to minimize the time spent on administrative tasks and maximize the time spent with our children.

The History of Whitetail Tech

Over the years, Pace has maintained a longstanding partnership with Whitetail Technologies. Ryan, Tim, and Ayron originally came together to build an app for Ryan's wife Tara's online, home-based retail clothing business. She needed a faster way to capture, manage, and organize her inventory. Thus, the team at Whitetail created what went on to become a top 10 productivity app on the iOS store called ShopStream. The success of ShopStream fueled Whitetail’s love for simplifying the daily grind and turning seemingly mundane tasks into efficient, streamlined processes.

Together, HoneyDo + Whitetail are helping people cut through the clutter, which often translates into moms and dads gaining extra precious moments—moments to cherish with their kiddos and with each other. It's all about making life simpler and leaving more room for the good stuff.
